Oliver joined Horizon Media in January 2006 as senior vice president, managing director, brand strategy, overseeing half of the agency’s accounts. A 19-year agency veteran, Oliver brings a wealth of experience in communications strategy development to Horizon. In January 2008, Oliver was appointed as the managing director for curious, a new entity of Horizon Media.
Designed to serve as a catalyst for existing Horizon brand teams and clients, curious@horizon, brings together the core disciplines of consumer insights and media creativity seamlessly focusing them behind individual brand communications. curious@horizon is led by the keen vision and solutions-curiousity of Oliver Maletz.
Throughout his career, Oliver has garnered both local and global strategic plan development and account management perspectives overseeing major blue chip accounts such as Coca-Cola, Gillette, Sony, Johnson & Johnson, Mastercard global, among others, in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. His focus at Horizon is marrying a solid understanding of client business models and brand architectures with actionable consumer insights in order to develop effective and efficient consumer communications plans.
Prior to joining Horizon, Oliver played a significant role at Universal McCann and served on its management board leading new business efforts to win 9 out of 11 pitches. He started his career in the National Broadcast Unit of FCB and then moved on to strategic media planning at Y&R before landing at UM in account management, agency management and global account management roles.
