Job Duties
- Marketing Driven: Develops media knowledge base in preparation for media responsibilities that include evaluating research, developing points of view and understanding applications towards client goals; Develops good understanding of client and competitive category; Stay aware of media trends and identify areas for client usage
- Planning: Responsible for supporting Media Planner and Planning Supervisor on day to day basis including plan execution and maintenance; Collaborate with Media Planner and Planning Supervisor with creative media solutions; Support Media Planner in development of client POV’s, budget maintenance, positioning reports, print media authorizations and plan actualizations; Gain an understanding of syndicated research (MRI, Arbitron, Nielsen, Scarborough) and media systems like Workhorse; Assists with tracking media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance; Updates client media flowcharts; Basic understanding of number relationships, media math and terminology
- Team Development: Collaborate with Planner and Planning Supervisor; Keep Media Planner abreast of workflow, project status and due dates. Participate in brand brainstorm discussions, offer creative media ideas; Dedicated team player, with passion for exploring new media ideas; Ability to effectively interact with other Horizon departments (i.e. Print, Out of Home, Interactive, Buying); Motivated
- Operational: Maintains media kit file; Develop strong media vendor relationships; Stewardship of media package contracts; Monitor trade publications; Participate in client meetings, as appropriate

Assistant Media Buyer/Local
Expectations:
- The Assistant Media Buyer assists their buyer with the monitoring and maintenance of all media projects and buying assignments
Duties:
- Implement work related goals as established by buyer
- Call for avails and input as requested
- Double check buys to assure they are client ready (spelling, comments, DP codes, etc)
- Order and confirm buys with station/rep in a timely manner
- Accurately check and maintain contracts within time frame
- Accurately maintain buy files
- Input make goods in a timely manner
- Maintain correct financial information for buys in the system
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in a timely and correct manner
- Meet all due dates
- Learn and understand media terminology
- Able to adjust to work flow and plan work accordingly
- Maintain good relationships with reps and their assistants
- Effectively communicate needs to sales people and get results in a timely manner
- Successfully function as a team player and maintain a positive attitude
- Effectively communicate work related matters to buyer in a timely and accurate manner
- Demonstrate an interest in entire scope of buying assignments to prepare for advancement

Assistant Account Executive
Expectations:
The Assistant Account Executive is responsible for assisting the Brand Group team, as set out below and implements work-related goals established by Supervisor. The AAE gains an understanding of the media industry and client categories, as well as learning internal processes, systems and tools.
Duties:
Marketing Driven
- Attend & participate in client meetings at appropriate level
- Participate in brand team brainstorms, developing ideas that help clients meet their goals
Team Development
- Establish rapport with clients and co-workers across all departments, as applicable
- Alert Account Executive to any workflow issues in a timely manner
Operational
- Billing & Budgets: Coordinate with Planning Group the development of budget decks, as it relates to client billing
- Added Value/Media Days: work with Buying & Promotions Group to oversee and maintain all aspect of added value
- Ensure timely delivery of promotions recap from Promotions Group.
- Buys & Posts: open goals; send specs to buyers; review buys & posts; write cover notes, issue buys to clients
- Traffic: Develop ISCI codes
- Work with clients and Traffic department to ensure process is on track; Traffic department to address specific challenges
- Status Reports: maintain and update internal & external status reports
- Misc: Maintain client binders (files) with all buys, posts, plans, and important documents
